How to help students find the right resources

Advising Issues
- Review requirements for the major
- Change/explore a new major
- Request an exception to policy
- Repeat a course a third time
- Exceed 18 repeat credits
- Drop a course late
- Register for more than allowed credits/semester
- Enroll in a course at another institution
- Consider withdrawing from the semester
- Discuss advising questions/concerns

Course issues
Students who want to know how they are doing in class or have concerns with an instructor.
- Step 1: Talk to the instructor
- Step 2: If unable to resolve the issue, contact the DUGS (Director of Undergraduate Studies in the department of the course) or the undergrad ombuds. They can assist students in understanding the Course-related policies in undergraduate classes such as:
- Absences and make-up work
- Final Grades (Arbitrary and Capricious Grading)
- Students’ rights (Grievance policy)
It is important that students reach out to the college advising staff. These topics are routine aspects of academic advising.
